ideation
Ideation always forms a large part of my remit.
Below are a just a few projects I've expounded on to demonstrate the thinking beyond aesthetics.
PACKAGING

It all started when I sat in a marketing meeting listening to a supplier selling bells, whistles and band-aids in an attempt to help promote our DVDs. At one point I spoke up and asked who had made the decision that this was going to be the DVD box? Who had the exclusivity on that mould and why couldn't we produce our own? A deafening silence before my question was completely ignored, and we returned to bells and whistles.
In the afternoon I sat in an executive meeting discussing what to include in the ABC tender. Deliberating whether I should risk mentioning it again I did. Once again that ol' familiar silence descended before it was agreed to included in the ABC tender, which we won as a result. A quick trip to China and two years later the Kids 'Handle-box' went all over Australia before conquering the world.

The Stig Helmet and Bust were two ideas I initiated in collaboration with my creative team.
Both were designed in Maya and after approval was sent to China for production.

FONTS

This was a two-letter custom-made Title Treatment received from one of our production partners. From here I created an entirely unique type-able alphabet using an Illustrator extension called FONTSELF. This allowed us greater flexibility when creating further collateral.

brainswarming
One of the regular activities I relish with gusto is facilitating brainstorming / brainswarming / ideation sessions for our film titles. There were so many valuable ideas birthed from these sessions that received fantastic feedback from marketing, even for the most difficult of titles.
If you would like to see the full ideation documents for Shazam, Life Itself, Aquaman, Lego Movie 2 and/or Hellboy, please request it by clicking on the bird below.
